About

Niqo Robotics develops AI-powered agricultural robots and precision spraying technology for farm operations. Its stated mission is to ship accessible, reliable robots for sustainable farming.

Founded as Tartan Sense in 2015, the company adopted the Niqo Robotics name in 2022. Its products are developed with input from growers, agricultural scientists, software specialists, hardware engineers, and OEM partners.

AI precision spraying

Niqo Sense is the company’s proprietary AI camera technology. It identifies individual plants and enables targeted application of agrochemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and liquid fertilizer. The technology can also be used to convert conventional sprayers into spot sprayers.

For field operations, the system uses image recognition and machine-learning models to select targets and activate precision nozzles. The company says its technology has been tested on real farms in India and the USA.

Robotic products and monitoring

Niqo RoboWeeder combines weeding, thinning, and beneficial spraying in a single pass, and is designed for specialty crops. Niqo RoboWeeder Solo is a compact, single-bay AI weeding robot. The company lists crops tested with its products including lettuce, tomato, onion, chilli, melon, broccoli, turf, and kale.

Both systems fit to a tractor and use Niqo View, an in-cabin touchscreen dashboard for managing spraying operations, and Niqo Track, an online dashboard for viewing fleet and field spraying activity. Niqo Base is a separate mapping and positioning technology suite for spraying operations.

Company background

The company reports that its products are tested and refined in field conditions and designed to integrate with existing farm equipment. Its timeline records the launch of Niqo RoboSpray in India in 2023 and the launch of Niqo RoboWeeder in North America in 2025.
